Goats have been domesticated for a very long time. They were on of the first animals humans set their eyes on in the early days for food and farming. We learned to milk them, breed them. domesticate them, and even use their fur. There are many different species of goats. Goats today probably look a lot different than they did in the beginning. Like all animals and humans, they've evolved over time. A lot of these changes were in their fur and their coats. In the beginning, goats and sheep were the same thing, but eventually split off from each other. Today's goats are the result of years of domestication. They were put in farms early on, and since then have been a reliable source of food and milk. Sadly, some countries often eat goats but it was necessary. A large percentage of red meat eaten worldwide is goat meat. Some countries even worship or sacrifice goats, depending on their beliefs. Goats have always been sacred animals.
